Two Doors Tavern

Based from the Game Master's Book of Random Encounters by Jeff Ashworth.

A lively ale house where very evening promises only unpredictability, the main feature of the Two Doors Tavern is the entry, separating the clientele into teams across a variety of random categories.

Tonight's revels will be: (1d6):

  1. Arm wrestling. 2 challengers face off using consecutive contested Athletics checks. Winner determined after 3 high rolls in a row.
  2. Dodging his ball. 3 challengers from each side alternate throwing a stuffed sheep's bladder at each other (contested ranged attack vs. Dexterity save). A failed save is a hit, which eliminates that player. Last team standing wins.
  3. Ale guzzling. Each side choses one challenger to consume 5 ales in a row, making 5 constitution checks-- highest total wins.
  4. Trivia of the obscure. 3 random questions presented to both sides one at a time. The side that determines the answer first wins (contested History check).
  5. Giant boar training. One representative from each side rides a magically created giant boar. Longest time wins (consecutive Dexterity or Strength checks against DC 15). [A DC 17 Animal Handling check offers advantage on the checks.]
  6. Battle of instruments. Three representatives from each side perform their favorite tune using the lute, flute and a shawm hanging on the wall (contested group Performance checks).
